For more than two months, movie theaters in Colombia have been closed due to the pandemic. With entertainment companies having to reinvent themselves, Colombia’s Unicentro Bogotá shopping center is no different.
Geometry Colombia, in partnership with Unicentro Bogotá and Cine Colombia, has created the Unicentro Al Parking, an outdoor live event space that has launched the country’s first drive-in theater. In a space equipped for 110 vehicles, the shopping center becomes the first in Colombia to offer a drive-in to families with movies being projected throughout the week. The space allows residents the ability to enjoy not only moves from the comfort and safety of their cars, but also concerts, church services and other activities that have move outdoors.
In addition to the drive-in theater, Unicentro Bogotá has also instituted several new features in the wake of the coronavirus to offer additional safety measures to shoppers. These measures include the instituting of ‘preferred’ entrances, personal shopping services, click and collect access for online shoppers, signage to promote social distancing and the implementation of sanitizing stations.
