Geometry Colombia (part of the VMLY&R COMMERCE network) has won two Gold and one Silver for Rescue Me Foundation’s Pet Interns at the Effie Awards Colombia. Gold was picked up in the Low Budget and Pet Care categories, with Silver being awarded in the Marketing Innovation Solutions category.
In partnership with the Rescue Me Foundation, the agency reinvented the traditional adoption model with the launch of Pet Interns, a pet adoption program that turns dogs into pet interns, making employees happy while finding forever homes for the dogs.
To launch the program, they went to LinkedIn, creating profiles of the dogs with everything companies look for in potential candidates. Targeting HR managers and CEOs requesting interviews, the dogs were then interviewed and started internships in the offices. With companies contributing economical resources to the Foundation, the pet interns had the opportunity to meet potential adopters. Their visits also improved both the work environment and mental health of company employees, including encouraging a return to the office post-pandemic.
Ford, ScotiaBank, Master Card and Colgate are some of the more than 56 brands participating in the program, helping the Foundation increase its adoption and rescue rate from 15% to more than 200%, in addition to generating more than 1.6 million dollars in earned media.
