As Global VP Commerce Transformation, Gemma Spence oversees the execution of the agency’s long-term transformation roadmap to accelerate the delivery of end-to-end creative commerce for clients, globally.
Managing a centralized team, she is focused on codifying and scaling digital commerce services in market across DTC, Digital-shelf management, Marketplaces (e.g. Amazon, Alibaba), Retail Media and more. Of critical importance is aligning data, technology, and creativity to unlock a brands commercial potential across online channels.
Having spent over a decade in global commerce leadership, Gemma’s experience spans the client, retail, and agency side, cutting across the end-to-end eCommerce value chain of management and strategic channel planning.
She brings a depth of knowledge across industries, having consulted for FMCG, automotive, and beauty brands, as well as ran the ecommerce operations in-house for a prominent consumer electronics company. Most recently, Gemma served as CEO for Omnicom Media Group’s specialist practice, Transact, built for improving ecommerce sales performance.
Accolades abound for Gemma, who has been recognized as CIO Magazines’ 20 Businesswomen of 2021, Management Today’s 35 Women Under 35, and Mediatel’s Future Media Leader. She has helped shape many of the ecommerce standards and programs across the industry and is a mentor, contributing editor for WARC and Econsultancy, along with studying an EMBA at the University of Oxford.
